Twin Mill - Hot Wheels della settimana
Questa è una pietra angolare della produzione Hot Wheels: la leggendaria Twin Mill. La versione raffigurata nelle foto fa parte del pack Let's Race da cinque modelli, uscito nel 2024. La carrozzeria superiore e inferiore sono in metallo verniciato Metalflake verde perlato; i due motori laterali, i tubi di scarico e l’abitacolo – ricavati da un unico stampo – sono in plastica metallizzata.
La carrozzeria superiore presenta una serigrafia a due colori: una banda nera rastremata che parte dalla sezione anteriore del cofano e termina a ridosso del parabrezza; motivi grafici composti da sottili linee e un logo Hot Wheels nella parte posteriore, in ciano chiaro. Le ruote sono OH5 (a cinque razze forate), cromate e serigrafate.
Curiosità
La Twin Mill è considerata uno dei modellini Hot Wheels più iconici di sempre. Il suo debutto nel 1969 ha lasciato nel tempo una scia ricca di curiosità: è riconosciuta come il primo design originale creato interamente da Hot Wheels e concepito da Ira Gilford. In origine, il modello in scala 1:64 avrebbe dovuto chiamarsi Dream 1. Le versioni iniziali, prodotte negli Stati Uniti, sfoggiavano vernici Spectraflame e ruote Redline.
In occasione del 30º anniversario del brand, Hot Wheels commissionò una versione funzionante in scala 1:1 (one-off). La costruzione iniziò con Boyd Coddington, ma venne interrotta nel 1998 a causa della bancarotta della sua azienda. L’autovettura fu completata da Carson Lev nel 2001, in tempo per il 35º anniversario. Si trattava di un veicolo dalla meccanica sorprendente: telaio tubolare, carrozzeria in fibra di vetro e un doppio propulsore composto da due motori General Motors 502, capaci di erogare una potenza combinata di 1.400 CV.
Oggi, la Twin Mill fa parte della Garage of Legends di Hot Wheels.

Twin Mill - Hot Wheels of the week
This is a cornerstone of Hot Wheels production: the legendary Twin Mill. The version shown in the photos is part of the five-model Let's Race pack, released in 2024. The upper and lower bodywork are made of pearl green Metalflake painted metal; the two side engines, exhaust pipes and cockpit – made from a single mould – are made of metallic plastic.
The upper bodywork features two-colour screen printing: a tapered black band that starts at the front of the bonnet and ends just behind the windscreen; graphic motifs composed of thin lines and a Hot Wheels logo at the rear, in light cyan. The wheels are OH5 (five-spoke perforated), chrome-plated and screen-printed.
Interesting facts
The Twin Mill is considered one of the most iconic Hot Wheels models ever. Its debut in 1969 left a trail of curiosity in its wake: it is recognised as the first original design created entirely by Hot Wheels and conceived by Ira Gilford. Originally, the 1:64 scale model was to be called Dream 1. The initial versions, produced in the United States, featured Spectraflame paint and Redline wheels.
To mark the brand's 30th anniversary, Hot Wheels commissioned a working 1:1 scale version (one-off).
